Bobby R. Albertson, 72

STEDMAN — Mr. Bobby Riggs Albertson, 72, died on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 6, 1939 in Pink Hill, NC to the late George Gerald and Nannie Mae Smith Albertson. Bobby retired from Sears at Cross Creek Mall after 31 years of service. He was a faithful member of Stedman Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and all his many friends who knew and loved him as well.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, in Stedman Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Spears and Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, Feb. 24, from 6 t0 8 p.m., at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.

Survivors include three sisters, Geraldine A. Kugler of Henderson , Nev., Carol Green and husband, Roderick of Hope Mills; and JoAnne A. English and husband, Ralph of Kerrville, Texas; niece, Karyn L. Thompson of Lorton, Va.; great-niece, Jessica Rae Thompson of Morgantown, W. Va.; nephew, Edwin Brown Kugler, III and wife, Danielle and their two sons, Edwin and Ethan Kugler of Henderson, Nev. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Taylor D. House, 16

GODWIN — Miss Taylor Denise House, 16 of Wrench Road, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Taylor was born on June 26, 1995 in Harnett County to Catherine House Lutz and Robert Dupont of Massachusetts. She was a junior at Midway High School and attended Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Stevie Danielle House; her grandfather, Elton Carnell House; and uncle, Dwayne Eddie House.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, at Baptist Chapel Church with the Rev. Allen Roberts and Rev. Jeff Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving in addition to her parents are grandmother, Evelene Wrench House of Godwin; godmother, aunt Judy House Tyndall of Autryville; godfather, uncle Larry Don Tyndall of Autryville; aunt, Joyce Hall and husband, Denis of Dunn; uncle, Elton House and wife, Rosemarie of Godwin.

The Family will receive friends at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home Thursday, Feb. 23, from 6 – 8 p.m.

Eleanor E. Porter, 80

FOUR OAKS — Mrs. Eleanor Edwards Porter, 80, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Four Oaks, with the Rev. Dick Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Porter Family Cemetery.

Chaz L. Hicks, 29

CLINTON — Mr. Chaz Latrell Hicks, 29, of 402 Weeks St., died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, at Andrews Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery.

Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Tamika Hargrove of Clinton; mother, Sandra Darden of Clinton; grandmother, Gladys Hicks; daughter, Italy Jacobs of Clinton; sons, Azure Hargrove and Jamarii Chestnutt both of Clinton; brothers, Daven Darden and Dexter Darden, Jr. both of Clinton.

Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m. with family present from 5-6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, at Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Mamie M. Bass, 81

CLINTON — Mrs. Mamie Leigh Munn Bass, 81, of 702 Stewart Ave., died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Mary Gran Nursing Center.

The funeral will be held 3 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Michael Shook officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park in Clinton.

Mrs. Bass, born in Oxford, was the daughter of the late Anderson Garland Munn and Rosa Bell Yancey Munn and was the widow of Albert Melvin Bass. She retired as a sales clerk from Belk Department Store and was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church. A grandson, Ross Cannady, preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Yolanda “Yo Yo” Bass Cannady and husband, Allen of Clinton; three grandchildren, Allison Bailey, Barrett Cannady, and Rebecca Simmons; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Nelson Munn of Kernersville and Jimmy Munn of Dunn.

The family will receive friends 2-3 p.m., the hour prior to the service, Friday, Feb. 24, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at 702 Stewart Ave., Clinton.

Fannie S. Burney, 84

IVANHOE — Ms. Fannie Lee Sykes Burney, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Sampson Regional Medical Center, Clinton.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, at Roseville Missionary Baptist Church, Willard. Interment will follow in Roseville Cemetery.
