On Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, Savannah Michelle Fann became the bride of Stephen Ashley Anders. The Rev. Michael Shook officiated the five o’clock ceremony in Grove Park Baptist Church in Clinton.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Chris Fann of Clinton. Her maternal grandparents are Lala Vae (“Dae”) and the late Carl Basil Butler of Autryville. Her paternal grandparents are Elizabeth Ann and the late William Cranford Fann of Salemburg. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Clinton High School and a 2010 graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Olive College. She is now employed as a Pre-K Teacher at Union Elementary School.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lee Anders of Clinton. His maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. William Vinson Pope of Clinton. His paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Lee Anders of Clinton. The groom is a 2002 graduate of Clinton High School and a 2005 graduate of Sampson Community College earning an Associate Degree in Livestock and Animal Management. He is employed at Prestage Farms and helps run the family farm business and Grape Vineyard of Clinton.

During the ceremony, altar candles burned in loving memory of the couple’s late grandparents and Mr. William Royall Adkins who was a beloved and cherished friend. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father. The bride wore a wedding gown by House of Wu, private collection.

Musicians were Denise West Scronce, pianist; Kathryn Edge Strapko, organist; and Elizabeth Edge Zaccardi, flutist. A special piano solo, “Surely the Presence of the Lord” was played by “Dae” Butler, grandmother of the bride. Vocalists were Miriam Elizabeth Ellis and Kettrell Seavy Strickland.

Casi Ryan Fann, sister of the bride, was the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Lauren Elizabeth Daughtery, Dana Elizabeth Herring, Morgan Elizabeth Daughtery, Zanna Alexis Faircloth, Gina Sutton Tew, Carli Suzanne Herring, cousins of the bride; and Ana Rose Kaleel, Hannah Lynn Underwood and Collynn Sutton Webster, friends of the bride. Flower girls were Miss Emma Grace Ellis and Miss Julianna Faith Ellis, cousins of the bride.

The groom had as his best man, his father, Mr. Samuel Lee Anders. The groomsmen were Nicholas Allen Anders, William Samuel Anders, brothers of the groom; Robert Michael Anders, William Matthew Parrish, cousins of the groom; and Justin Blake Byrd, Derrick Allen Daughtry, Alan Bradley Johnson, Andrew Steven Naylor, Matthew Bryan Naylor, friends of the groom. Ring-bearer was Master Ryan Christopher Fann, nephew of the bride.

Directors of the wedding ceremony were Mrs. Lou Anna Moore and Mrs. Elizabeth Fann Daughtery, both aunts of the bride.

Guest register attendants were Gary Mac Herring and Matthew Wesley Sutton, cousins of the bride.

Reception

Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a reception at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center. Mr. and Mrs. James Mark Sutton and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Brent Daughtery, aunts and uncles of the bride, greeted guests. Reception directors were Mrs. Sharon Herring, Mrs. Cindi Fowler and Mrs. Debbie Roberts, friends of the bride. After a dinner catered by Elegant Party, the Main Event Band entertained guests.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia the couple are residing in Clinton.

Rehearsal Dinner

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lee Anders, parents of the groom, were hosts to a rehearsal dinner for the couple, the wedding party, and guests at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center. After toasts were given to the bride and groom, Duke and June Sanders provided special entertainment.

Pre-nuptial Events

On Oct. 14, family and friends hosted an engagement party and dance for the couple at Coharie Country Club.

On Oct. 23, Gary Wayne and Deborah Hall at their home in Clinton gave a Handyman Shower for the groom.

On Oct. 28, Kenny and Lou Anna Moore hosted a meal at their home in Harrells, for the families of both the bride and groom.

On Nov. 6, Annette and Carolyn Parrish and Leigh Goble gave a Linen Shower at the Ashford Inn of Clinton for the couple.

On Dec. 4, Lynn, Collynn, and Zannah Webster at their home in Clinton, honored the bride with an Alphabet Shower.

On Jan. 19, friends and members of Grove Park Baptist Church hosted a wedding shower for the bride and groom.

On Feb. 11, Beth Daughtery, Laura Harris, Pam Skipper, Lou Anna Moore, Renee Spell, and Lynn Sutton at the home of the bride hosted a bridesmaid’s brunch honoring the bride and her bridesmaids.

On Feb. 18, the groom’s family in Clinton hosted a groomsmen luncheon honoring the groom and his groomsmen. Refreshments for the wedding party were provided by Lynn Underwood, Nancy Dilman, Nancy Heath, Anita Lane and Helen Kaleel.
