The Clinton-Sampson Rotary Club, reminds residents to get their Bingo lingo ready for the annual Super Bingo on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center, located off Warsaw Road.

With varied games and prizes totaling $1,500 or more, Rotary president Pat Green commented, “This event has become a great family event, where folks can gather, enjoy a night of fun and have the chance at some great prizes.”

Agreeing club member Billy Peterson furthered, the Super Bingo event is one of the clubs major fund-raisings, and “it is going to be fun.”

With tickets already on sale, for $20, each participant will be provided five packs with 15 squares and these will allocate them eight games.

According to fund-raiser chairman Chris Fann, of Go Toyota, the Rotary club does not want to view each participant as a buyer, but rather a “donator to support the community.”

Officials also uncovered that any participant who chooses to buy their tickets in advance, from a Rotary member, will be eligible for a $100 cash prize.

“The tickets that are purchased in advanced will be put into a barrel and the first ticket drawn will receive $100; however tickets will be sold at the door as well, but they will not be entered into this raffle,” Fann elaborated.

He further explained that the winner does not have to be present if their ticket is pulled.

“Some people buy the tickets as a birthday gift for someone they know enjoys playing.”

In a case such as using the ticket as a gift, the Rotary considers this as a form of donation to their organization as well.

On the evening of the event the doors will open 5 p.m.

Fann revealed that all ages are permitted to join the Super Bingo crowd, with the purchase of a ticket for the event; however, if any person is under the age of 16, they must be accompanied by an adult.

“The people who typically come out to play are community members who are supporting Clinton Rotary,” Fann stated, adding, “They can be certified Bingo players or people who just play at home. It is good, clean, family fun to support the community.”

A session of early Bingo will begin at 6 p.m.; however it should be fully noted that to play in these games one must purchase them additionally once inside.

The early Bingo books sell for $5 a piece or two for $8, but participants are limited to no more than two books. “They will play nine squares per game, for five games,” officials wrote.

Special games will also be offered, with no purchasing limit, for a dollar per sheet (three squares), as well as a half and half ticket, with no purchasing limit, priced at a dollar as well.

The regular session of Bingo, which is included in the $20 ticket, will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the games include inside square, any Bingo, letter W, B and O Bingo, two stamps, two straights, shotgun Bingo and cover-all.

Some may ask, what would Bingo be without screaming calls; therefore, everyone interested in participating is recommended to brush up on their Bingo slang including, “Kelly's eye, buttered scone, at the beginning, little Jimmy, Nelson's column, one little duck and little boy blue, to name a few.

Since calling the Bingo slangs can be exhausting, Fann revealed that concessions will be available.

According to Green, the concessions will include hot dogs, drinks, homemade brownies and cookies.

After a night full of “B-I-N-G-Oing,” officials were pleased to reveal that all the proceeds will be directed towards programs supported by the club, including City and County School projects, Sampson Community, Vial of Life, Relay for Life and N.C. Girls and Boys Homes. Rotary also supports many international projects, which improve health and welfare of many.

“The Rotary motto is ‘service above self,’ and members take pride in giving back to the community not only through Rotary membership, but by reaching out in their business, church and community,” Green concluded.
