The Clinton Recreation Department has many activities for all ages going on throughout the year. On Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, The 5-6 year old basketball league featured the Hounddogs, in dark and the Crocodiles in white having fun at the Bellamy Center gym. Following the basketball game, the girl's 6-8th grade volleyball took the floor. Clinton High School volunteers, Caroline Kaleel, Taylor Brazell, and Laura Deans led the girls through skills and drills before dividing them into teams and practicing game situations. Volleyball will conclude Saturday, Jan. 31. All the participants had fun while learning the fundamentials of volleyball. In addition to Caroline, Taylor and Laura, the Clinton Recreation Department wishes to recognize and thank the other volunteers, Tyler Malpass from Union High School as well as Katie Butler and Susan DeMay from Clinton High School. During both of these activities, Duplicate Bridge was being played in the Bellamy wing. These dedicated players meet on Tuesday evenings for fun, fellowship, and competition. Anyone wanting to learn how to play bridge is asked to contact the Bellamy Recreation Center at 299-4900 ext. 3072. A beginners class will be starting on Monday evenings.
