Sampson girls basketball coach Robin Whitman stated, “I was not as pleased with our offensive play because we turned the ball over to often but we did recover some to still get the win. Hobbton is a scrappy team and gave us a good game. Now we will wait to see where we finish in the conference and get ready for the tournament. Our goal is to bring home that trophy.”

Sampson does not play next week but will compete in the Sampson County Middle School Conference tournament Feb. 9-10 at Midway Middle. Hobbton Middle will be at Midway on Monday. There will be a play-in game on Thursday for the fourth and fifth place teams which will be determined following Monday’s games.
