Excitement is in the air at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in the great city of Clinton. In just a few days, the Mt. Pleasant church family will celebrate the 25th Pastoral Anniversary of pastor, Bishop Varnie N. Fullwood Sr.

For any pastor to be in one church pastoring for 25 years is an amazing miraculous milestone. This is true for bishop Varnie N. Fullwood Sr. as we prepare to celebrate this great event, church members noted. A banquet is scheduled for Saturday June 23, at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center, 414 Warsaw Road, Clinton, at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be apostle Norbett Simmons of Deeper Life Church Ministries, Goldsboro. On Sunday, June 24, the anniversary services will conclude at the church premises.

What a testimony for Christ of faithfulness and longevity in ministry. The Bible says that the position of “pastor” is a gift to the church; therefore, we tell God thank you for our ministry gift. We know sacrifices were made to make all his accomplishments during his twenty-five years of loyalty and commitment. His ministry is an amazing work of God! God told him many years ago that this church would be a lighthouse and a soul saving station for Christ; and it came to pass, as he adhered to the call of God.

In celebrating this special milestone, we look back on the ministry’s history with great fondness and gratitude. Down through the years, hundreds of people have been impacted by the preached word that has come from the voice of our pastor manifested from God himself. Many souls were saved, delivered and set free from the snares of the enemy. Many lives have been changed from the poverty mentality, to believing that we have been anointed to prosper. He has taught this body of believers to stand on the Word of God no matter what the circumstance. A seventy year old man accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior with the first sermon that he preached at Mt. Pleasant Church. But, as wonderful as God’s blessings have been on our past, we look forward, not backward, for our time of greatest opportunity and impact for the next 25 years of great and anointed leadership. Throughout this entire year, we have been continually celebrating and commemorating this milestone for our great man of God! So, we tell God “Thank You” for his tremendous steadfastness and generosity; we would not be able to move forward in so many powerful ways. We also thank God for his wife of 39 years; the beautiful and anointed Idella M. Fullwood. She has been by his side with endurance, prayer, and with high admiration. They are committed to serving in God’s name and making a difference in other’s lives. When the Lord brought the two of them together, He created a powerful team. Their love for the Lord and for each other makes an impact on our congregation in numerous ways. We are blessed to have them both in our lives and they will be blessed beyond measure for how they have blessed this ministry, and this community.

In conclusion, we congratulate Bishop and first lady Fullwood for 25 years of ministry.
