On Jan. 15, 2009, we had a fire at our home on 4136 Bonnettsville Road, Clinton.
My husband and I were watching TV. In less than 10 minutes, we dropped off to sleep. The fire alarms went off. (Please get fire alarms if you don’t have them.) When we woke up the house was filled with smoke. We knew we were in trouble.
We got out and called 911 to report the fire. From the time of the alarm at 3:47, arrival time was 4:00. That was fast; however, to us it seemed like forever. Thank you for your help in saving the most of our home.
When there is a fire at our homes we run out; however, the fireman goes in to the fire to save us and our homes if they can. For this my husband and I would like to say thank you. Thank God for each and everyone of you Clinton, Roseboro and Salemburg fire departments.
You all was so kind and helpful. One fireman even took my painting of the walls and put them in a safe place.
Because of your fast response, some time in the spring, hopefully, our home will be remodeled and we can go home again.
Thanks to all our neighbors and friends who stopped by to help us.
Again we say thank you firemen and may God bless each of you for all of your help in our time of need.
John and
Peggy Melvin
