Psalm 26:2 says “Examine me, O Lord, and prove me: try my reins and my heart.” In other words, David was speaking to God and saying “Lord show me myself.”

When was the last time you ever ask God to examine you? I know you have been guilty of “examining” others, if you can be real today, but have you looked at yourself lately? It’s a shame that Christian folks will look all into the lives of others, but not examine their own. Could it be that you are afraid of what might show up on your “examination,” particularly with God being the surgeon.

Saints of God, if you want to be like Christ you must do as David did in this Psalm: ask God to show you yourself. There are things in you and your life that God wants to show you and get rid of. The question is, are you open for the examination?

There is not one of us who does not need the Lord to examine us. Jesus wants to do mighty and awesome things in your life. Saints there will be things that God will show you about yourself that is going to surprise you, but you must accept and be open for Him to correct you.

We have not mastered this Christian journey, not one of us, and this thing we call life. We are all a work in progress.

Even while reading this article, God could be dealing with you about opening yourself up and asking him to show you your shortcoming when it comes to pleasing him. Oh saints of God, we all need this more now than ever before, the world needs to see holiness in our lives because God said to “be ye holy for I am Holy.” (1 pet 1:16)

Don’t shut your hearts and minds to what the Holy Spirit wants to do in your life.

The ways of the Lord are better and far more everlasting than ours, so it’s God’s way or no way. Don’t try to examine yourself on your own; all you will see is what you want to see, but when God does it, he will show all of it you.
