The director of the community theater’s production of “The Carol Burnett Show” is still seeking enough actors and actresses aged 18-80, male or female, experienced or not, to complete his casting of some half dozen or more skits from the award winning TV show that was very popular in the late 60s early 70s. You may show up at the theater any weeknight at 7 p.m. or you may call Gary Wayne Melvin at 531-3643 for further information.

The”Carol Burnett Show” consisted of skits performed by the likes of Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman, as well as the unequaled Carol Burnett. The skits were relatively short and the action and script focuses more on the people than the place or circumstances, although the situations that arise lead to hilarity of the first order. You will enjoy being a member of the cast in this production even as much, if not more than, members of the audience. The performances will be Aug. 24- Sept. 2.

The annual Summer Drama Camp will be held Aug. 3-17 under the direction of Angela Martin. There are a limited number of spaces remaining so If you have a child or grandchild who would like to learn more about the inside-outs of acting contact Angela by e-mail at alm2sing@yahoo.com for an application which she will forward to you.

THOUGHTS UNTIL NEXT WEEK:

— We must find time to stop and thank the people who have made a difference in our lives.

— There are moments when everything goes well, but don’t be frightened.

— That person is wise who does not grieve for the things which they have not, but rejoices for those which they have.
