A man allegedly involved with three Reedsford Road break-ins and a larceny of a van was taken into custody after a deputy observed him standing in the back of a moving truck on Livingston Lane Thursday.

Joshua William Carter, 26, of Clinton, was served with warrants stemming from three “breaking and entering” cases that were reported on June 21, 2012 after officers ran his named and determined he was wanted on those charges.

Through investigation and tips from concerned citizens, Carter was also linked to the larceny of a van from Party Perfect Rentals that took place last month.

According to reports, the suspect was standing in the back of a truck near Livingston Lane, just outside of Clinton, Thursday evening when the deputy pulled the truck over. Once he ran Carter’s name, it was discovered he was wanted on a host of outstanding warrants and was immediately arrested.

In addition to the larcenies, Carter was also served with warrants from the Clinton Police Department and Warsaw Police Department and placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under a $35,000 bond.

He was charged with: two counts of breaking and entering; attempted breaking and entering; larceny of firearm; possession of stolen firearm; larceny of motor vehicle; possession of stolen vehicle; two counts of misdemeanor larceny ; felony larceny (Clinton PD); possession of stolen goods (Warsaw PD); and resist, delay or obstruct an officer (Warsaw PD). Carter’s first court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 3.
