Two men, including a teenager, have been arrested in three separate sexual offense cases investigated locally, according to preliminary information by Sampson County Sheriff’s investigators.

Romualdo Mondragon Gomez, 32, of 231 Luviano Lane, Garland, has been charged with two counts of first-degree sex offense with a child and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

The charges stem from two related crimes reported earlier this year, authorities said.

Gomez was served with the charges at the magistrate’s office on Saturday and was placed under $150,000 bond in each of the two cases. Gomez was jailed in the Sampson County Detention Center, where he is still being held, jail officials said Monday.

Rape charge

In a separate case, a Bladen County teen was arrested on a rape charge stemming from an incident reported just four days earlier.

Brandon Scott Johnson, 16, of 43 Archietown Road, White Lake, was charged with second degree rape. He was served with the charge at the Sheriff’s Office, placed under $25,000 unsecured bond and released.

Arrest reports on the two men were filed at the Sampson County Law Enforcement Center Monday.

No other details were available regarding these cases.
