Local churches to celebrate their ushers Sunday

The ushers of the Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, H.B. Lewis Road, will celebrate their anniversary Sunday, Aug. 19, at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Marvin T. The ushers of the Snowhill Missionary Baptist Church, Roseboro, will celebrate their anniversary Sunday, Aug. 19, at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Joy Night will be held at the Ram in the Bush Church, Clinton, Thursday, Aug 16, at 7:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be pastor Eddie Parker, choir and congregation of the Mingle Hill Church, Salemburg. The church services are held each second, third and fourth Sunday. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. and morning worship services are at 11 a.m. Bible study is held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and noon day services are held every Wednesday.

New Life Outreach Ministry, 708 Sampson St., Clinton, will have their Women’s Conference Sunday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be evangelist Hattie Lofton of Smithfield. On Monday, Aug. 20, the speaker will be pastor Louise Royal of the Jackson Grove Bible Church of God. On Tuesday will be pastor Patricia Peterson of the Joyous Praise Church of Warsaw. On Wednesday will be apostle Angela McLeod of the Greater Tabernacle of Deliverance of Fayetteville. Thursday night will be apostle Gail Speights of the Abundant Life Ministry of Wilson. On Friday, will be elder Mary Tyson of the Outreach Family Ministry of Dillon, S.C. On Saturday, at 5 p.m., the speaker will be co-pastor prophetess F.M. Pinkney of the Perpetual Praise Ministry of Hope Mills. The host pastor is Regina Lucious.

Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton, will hold its Women of Rhema Conference Aug. 15-18 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. On Wednesday night, the guest speaker will be pastor Teshorna Fitzpatrick of the Proceeding Word Church of Chicago. Thursday night will be apostle Stephanie Hart of the Mount Zion Church Ministry of Goldsboro. Friday night will be apostle Brenda Pratt of Global Worship Center of Nassau, Bahamas. On Saturday, Aug. 18, the conference will close out with a luncheon and fashion show at 11 a.m. It is free to the public. The host pastor is bishop Varnie Fullwood and first lady Idella Fullwood, the conference chairperson.

The annual Home Mission Service will be held at the Union Star Free Will Holiness Church, Sunday, Aug. 19, at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be pastor Thelma Waters of the Cooper’s Chapel Holiness Church.

The 25th pre-pastor anniversary service for the Rev. Willie Bryant will begin Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Saint Jude Holiness Church, H.B. Lewis Road, Clinton, at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The speaker tonight will be the Rev. Judy Howard, choir and congregation of the Ram in the Bush Church; on Thursday will be elder Thelma Waters, choir and congregation of the Coopers Chapel Church; and on Friday, will be elder Eddie Parker, choir and congregation of the Mingle Hill Disciple Church. On Sunday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m., the speaker will be elder Bobby Lamb, choir and congregation of the Saint Peters Holiness Church in Keener and Saint Mary Choir.

The Christ Missionary Baptist Church, now located at Salemburg Elementary School, will have its regular morning worship service Sunday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Marvin T. Clowney, will bring forth the morning message and the choir will render the music.

The Little Piney Grove Church family will celebrate the 32nd anniversary of their pastor, the Rev. Harold Boykin Jr. Sunday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. The guest speaker is the Rev. Elbert Fowler, pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church. He will be accompanied by the Little Piney Grove Adult Choir. Dinner will be served following the morning service at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be apostle Norbert Simmons, choir and congregation of the Deeper Light Church.

The Sensational Gospel Singers will celebrate their 48th anniversary Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Jackson Grove Bible Church in Midway at 3 p.m. Appearing on the program will be the Mingle Hill Choir of Salemburg; Chapel Hill Adult Choir of Autryville; Union Hill Mass Choir of Midway; Holly Mission Gospel Choir of Fayetteville; Jackson Grove Gospel Choir of Midway; Mt. Pleasant Male Chorus of Turkey; The Faison Family of Turkey; Saint Stephens Mass Choir of Turkey; Mount Zion Choir of Warsaw; The Davis Sisters of Lillington; and others. The Friendly Trio will host in concert New Again, southern Gospel music, on Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Friendly Community Center at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 18, the Friendly Trio, along with the Church Association, will give out food bags from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Friendly Community Center, 421 North Hansome Road.

The Rev. Harold Boykin of Clinton will preach at the Morning Star Holiness Church on McKoy Street, Clinton on Friday, Aug. 17, at 7:30 p.m. For the pastor’s anniversary, the Rev. Lloyd Butler, Jr., other ministers will participate during the week. The final celebration will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m.

A Youth Explosion 2012 will be held at the Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church, 201 Fayetteville St., Clinton, Saturday, Aug. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be served from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. catered by Piggly Wiggly. There will be no admission charged. The presentation will be of two powerful DV’s that talks about and demonstrates certain acts on evil spirits, R&B music, suicide, thug life, selling dope, losing your virginity, teen pregnancy, wrong relationships, sex out of marriage, same sex marriage diseases, worshipping idol Gods and many others.
