MOUNT OLIVE- The planning session for the 2012 Sampson, Harnett, and Cumberland counties gift support dinner for Mount Olive College will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Oak Grove OFWB Church near Newton Grove.

During the session, Jean F. Ackiss, director of Church Support at Mount Olive College, will give a presentation about the college. She will also coordinate final plans for the dinner, as well as distribute the dinner literature.

The 2012 Sampson, Harnett, and Cumberland dinner is one of 16 being held throughout eastern North Carolina. According to Ackiss, “The dinners have provided over 12.5 million dollars in gift support since they were started in 1963. This unrestricted gift support from Original Free Will Baptist churches helps Mount Olive College expand its services to students, the Original Free Will Baptist Church, and the region.”

Mount Olive College is a private institution rooted in the liberal arts tradition with defining Christian values. The College, sponsored by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists, has locations in Mount Olive, New Bern, Wilmington, Goldsboro, Research Triangle Park, Washington and Jacksonville.
