Soil and Water Conservation Office announce the application period

The Sampson Soil and Water Conservation Office would like to announce the application period is open for the 2013 program year.  Practices eligible for cost share are cropland conversion to pasture, no-till, field borders, erosion control practices, and many others.  The Agriculture Cost Share Program is designed to assist in putting conservation practices on the ground. The applications are ranked based on resource concerns identified in the county.  Applicants can be reimbursed up to 75 percent of a predetermined average cost for each BMP installed. The applicant is responsible for approximately 25 percent of the costs which may include the use of existing material and labor.
