GREENSBORO — Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Brenwood Reynolds, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at Wesley Long Community Hospital with his wife and sons by his side.
Mr. Reynolds’ visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis and Dick Elm Street Chapel.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23 at Newton Grove Methodist Church with pastor Scott Foster officiating. There will be a family visitation at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove.
Mr. Reynolds was born in Sampson County on Sept. 25, 1932 to James Richard and Elizabeth Tew Reynolds. He served in the United States Air Force and was a graduate of East Carolina University earning a B.S. in Business Administration. He served as the vice-president of Delta Sigma Pi, a position of which he was most proud.
Mr. Reynolds was the president and owner of Herco, Inc. for 20 years. He retired from the insurance industry in 2004. He was also a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church.
is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Harry Reynolds.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Kathryn Williams Reynolds; sons, Richard Carouth Reynolds (Karen Hattaway) of Durham and Randy Lawrence Reynolds and fiancée, Tonya Barker of Greensboro; as well as sister-in-law, Vila Reynolds of Clinton.
