What’s on the canvas? Only the artist knows! For each of the past seven years, rising local artist Heather Williams has produced a painting in honor of Faison’s Annual Market Day, and she is at it again. In addition to these creations, Heather also creates portraits, landscapes, and still life, which grace the walls in homes and businesses throughout the area. (Courtesy photo)

Faison will kick off its 2012 Annual Market Day celebration with the unveiling of this year’s commemorative painting at a reception to be held at the Southern Exposure Restaurant in Faison. The event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m.

Local artist Heather Williams, who is producing the painting, says that, as in past years, her creation will feature an aspect of Faison’s produce market in its early years.

The painting will be raffled on Market Day, Saturday, Oct. 13. Tickets will be available at the reception and may also be purchased in Faison at City Hall, the Recreation Center, Brewer Hardware, and Southern

Exposure. They will also be availible for purchase in the park on Market Day prior to the drawing. Prices are $5 per ticket, three for $10, or 10 for $20.

The public is cordially invited to attend the unveiling. Refreshments will be served
