Midway dominates N. Duplin in cross country meet

Midway hosted North Duplin in cross country Wednesday and scored a double perfect meet. That is, both the men’s team and the women’s team took the top five spots.

Michael McLamb led the way for the Raiders with a time of 17:38. He was followed by Alex Boggs, who finished the course in 18:54. Dalton Butler was third with a time of 19:00. Heath Smith posted a 19:27. Caleb Sanders claimed the fifth spot in 19:56.

Alex Bradley and Ritchell Causar also finished ahead of the opposition with times of 20:07 and 21:37 respectively.

North Duplin’s top performer was Lance Loalbo with a time of 22:04. Following Midway’s Tyler Mayes, who was at 25:19, the Rebels’ Brandon Patterson scored a 26:37.

For the ladies, Kimberly Sublett ran the 5 meters in 28:04. Maddie Pope finished second with a 28:11. Sarah Wood took third. Her time was 32:11. Kimberly O’Brien and Zakia Douglas rounded out the top five.

Midway will begin conference play next Wednesday at Goldsboro.
