CLAYTON — Mrs. Sharon Godwin Nanagas, 51, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Horne Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ross Carter officiating.

Sharon was a native of Sampson County and the daughter of Helen Holland Godwin and the late Bertus Godwin. She was a 1979 graduate of Hobbton High School and a 1984 graduate of the School of Pharmacy at UNC. Sharon was employed as a pharmacist with Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jeff Nanagas; two sons, Justin Nanagas and Sean Nanagas; a sister, Bonnie Godwin King; a brother, William Douglas Godwin; and best friend, Kay Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the church prior to the memorial service.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all the friends, family, and co-workers for all the many acts of loving kindness and care given to Sharon and the family during this time.
