At least three victims, in addition to downtown Clinton business owners, fell victim to property damage over the weekend.

On Sept. 8, around 11:25 a.m., Epiphany Royal reported that someone had tried to burn a wreath hung on her front door. Royal said she went outside and noticed that the wreath had been burned at the bottom. Damage was estimated at $25.

Early Sunday morning, police were called to investigate another damage report, this one at Brown’s Cleaners, 1123 Sunset Ave., where an employee reported that someone had apparently tried to crack the business’ drive-thru window. The employee said she noticed the damage when she arrived at work. Although the window was not shattered, there was a spider-like break in the window. Damage was estimated at $400.

In addition, a Helen Simmons reported that her Dodge Neon was damaged later in the day Sunday while it was parked at Hong Kong City, Sunset Avenue.

Reports show that Simmons came out of the restaurant around 2:20 pm. to find the side window of her car broken out. Damage was estimated at $100.

If anyone has information about any or all of these crimes, they are asked to call the Clinton Police at 910-592-3105.

I may be missing something but I came to the conclusion that it's one business owner who was a victim, not "victims", as reported. Wbere do ya'll get these editors? Please proof read before printing. Dang- Joe Dirt
