
Midway's summer season
The Midway High School Varsity Baseball team was named co-champions of the CCSSL summer league. They shared the title with West Johnston High School due to a storm that cancelled the championship game tied at 1. The CCSSL summer league consisted of 67 teams spanning all over central and eastern North Carolina. There were 16 teams at the end of the regular season that qualified for the playoffs. The first two rounds of the tournament were held at Midway. Game 1: Midway beat Scotland County High 8-6. In round 2, Midway beat Bunn High School 3-0. In the semifinals, Midway beat Orange County High School 3-2 and West Johnston beat Richmond County High 3-2.
