The Union High School junior varsity team delivered another solid performance Thursday night in their 2-0 home victory against the visiting James Kenan Lady Tigers.

Union earned match wins of 25-14 and 25-18, picking up their eight victory of the season.

“I have really been proud of the JV team all year,” said Union head coach Dana Strickland. “They really play well together. They communicate well and delivered good passes tonight. Good passing helps you win games.”

With the win, Union improves to 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the conference.

In the varsity matches, Union fell 3-1 (22-25, 14-26, 27-25 and 25-23).

“All of the games were really close,” noted Strickland. “I am really proud of the girls. You know, we have struggled this year trying ways to figure out what works for us. I hate that we are getting it halfway through the season, but we are getting it. It is never too late.”

With the loss, Union falls to 2-12 overall and 0-8 in the conference.
