Hobbton crushes Dark Horses at home Thursday

HOBBTON — The Hobbton Wildcat softball and baseball registered two huge wins Thursday defeating the Clinton Dark Horses in both games by wide margins. The Lady Wildcat softball team picked up the 9-1 win over the Lady Dark Horses but no other results were available at press time.

The Wildcat baseball team out scored the Clinton Dark Horses 11-3 to earn their victory Thursday at Hobbton. Hobbton jumped out in front 3-1 in the first inning and never looked back. Clinton did not score again until the top of the fifth but the damage had been done and Hobbton went on to pick up the win.

Hobbton baseball coach Chad Brewer expressed his pleasure at getting the big win and hopes the Wildcats will continue to improve as the season progresses.

Clinton will travel to North Duplin today with the game scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. The Sampson Independent has not received a schedule from the Wildcats as of press time.
