NEWTON GROVE — Mr. Reddin Bass Jr., 83, died Friday afternoon at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. He was born in Sampson County on Sept. 5, 1929 to the late Reddin and Hettie Jackson Bass.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m Monday, Oct. 1, at Mt. Elam Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Moore and the Rev. W.H. Calcutt officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Family Cemetery.
Reddin owned and operated McLamb Electric Motors in Dunn for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife Phoebe Bass; two daughters, Maria West and husband Brian of Newton Grove and Rita B. Norman and husband Kent of Seneca, S.C.; two grandchildren, Aaron Norman and Craig West; and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
