A woman working at a local business reported that her pocketbook, filled with cash and credit cards, was stolen Monday just as she prepared to go home.

According to Clinton Police reports, the 47-year-old woman, who works at Moore Cuts, 602 Lisbon St, had secured the pocketbook inside the store while she was working. When she finished her day around 6:30 p.m., she noticed that her pocketbook was gone. For the following hour, reports show, the woman searched frantically for the item throughout the store, and a dumpster, and she even asked customers if they had seen the item — all attempts were unsuccessful.

At 7:30 p.m., she reported the pocketbook stolen to Clinton Police officers.

The purse, which had a considerable amount of cash, identification cards, credit cards and a check, is beige in color with pink circular designs on it.

Investigators at the Clinton Police Department are searching for information on this incident.

If you have any information or have seen the purse, you are asked to call officials at 910-592-3105. All information and tips will be held anonymous.
