Joshua Luther Pegues, 18, of 574 Hollerin Road, Dunn, has been charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of felonious larceny and two counts of possession of stolen goods, according to reports filed at the Sampson County Law Enforcement Center on Friday.
Pegues was placed under a total bond of $60,000 for the charges, with bond set at $30,000 for each break-in incident.
According to reports, the charges against the teen stem from a break-in to the home of Kevin Pegues, 37, of Clinton, and Stephanie Sellers, of the 4000 block of Beulah Road, Clinton.
During the incident reported by Kevin Pegues, reported Dec. 7, a 72-inch Panasonic television was stolen. The TV was valued at $4,000, authorities said.
Three days after that report, on Dec. 10, Sellers told sheriff’s deputies that a suspect broke into her home and made away with two $20 bills and a roll of quarters totaling $10.
The charges filed Friday are part of a long list of offenses previously taken out against Pegues by sheriff’s authorities.
Pegues was previously charged in a break-in to Sylvester Pittman’s home on Mount Elam Church Road, reported last month.
Similar to the Pegues’ break-in, the items stolen included a big-screen television. The items were valued at in excess of $2,300, and included a 42-inch plasma television, a Dell laptop computer and Nintendo Wii video game system, as well as some clothing items.
At that time, Pegues was also served with charges that he failed to appear in court to face numerous other motor vehicle and traffic offenses, to include misdemeanor fleeing to elude arrest.
