Wilson Chapel to hold musical program

There will be a musical program held at the Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey, Saturday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m., sponsored by the Wilson Chapel Brotherhood and community. Appearing on the program will be the Voices of Distinction of Fort Bragg; the Sensational Gospel Singers of Clinton; Warsaw Male Chorus of Warsaw; the Unity Male Chorus of Magnolia; Ms. Betty Whitfield, solist, of Kenansville; and others. The annual Homecoming service will be held at the Andrew Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton Sunday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Gerald Underwood, will bring the morning message and the senior choir will provide the music. Following will be communion.

The Women’s Conference will be held at the Running Branch Disiciple of Christ Church, Clinton, Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The theme is “Women of God Who Take a Lick and Keep on Ticking.” On Wednesday night, the guest speaker will be apostle Blonny Aycock of the New Church of Christ; Thursday, guest will be Dr. Evelena Oliver of Saint Jude Church of Christ, Warsaw; and Friday, Dr. Hattie Lofton of Hickory Grove Church of Christ, will be the speaker. On Saturday, Oct. 13, at 5 p.m., the testimonials will be through guest speakrs, a praise and dance service and the praise and worship. Regular morning worship service will be held at the Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton, Sunday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Alice Jean Boykin, the pastor, will bring the message and the adult choir will render the music.

The Jerusalem Travelers of Turkey will celebrate their anniversary Sunday, Oct. 14 at the Friendly Community Center, beginning at 5 p.m. The admission will be $5. On the program will be the Gospel Tones of Raleigh, Norbett Simmons and the Gospelaries of Goldsboro, Set A Part Singers of Goldsboro, the Branchettes of Raleigh, the Drivers No. 2 Propser of Goldsboro, Deep Bottom Mass Choir of Wallace, J.B. The Christ Missionary Baptist Church, now located at Salemburg Elementary School, will have its regular morning worship service Sunday, Oct. 14, beginning at 10 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Marvin T. Clowney, will bring the message and the C..B.C. Choir will render the music.

The Mount Plesant Missionary Baptist Church Ministries Family will celebrate the 137th Homecoming and church anniversary beginning with Homecoming revival Wednesday, Oct. 10 and continuing through Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Pastor Thomas Farrow from First Baptist Church, Clinton, will conduct the revival leading up to the church’s Homecoming celebration Sunday, Oct. 14. The pastor, bishop Varnie Fullwood will bring the message during the Sunday morning worhsiop service. At 3 p.m., the guest minister will be pastor Onyx Martin of Saint Paul Church of Christ. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. Don’t miss it.

The Mingle Hill Disciple of Christ Church will hold its fall bazaar Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Come and enjoy lots of fun, food and fellowship at 100 Zoar Church Road in Salemburg.

The regular morning worship service will be held at the Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, H.B. Lewis Road, Clinton, Sunday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Jeffrey White, will bring the message and the gospel choir will provide the music. Don’t miss it.

Pastor Ann Mosson of the Trinity United Free Will Holiness Church, Clinton, will preach at the Church of Refuge in Smithfield Sunday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. She will be accompanied by the church family. The Friendly Trio, along with the Church Association, will give out food bags Saturday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. For more information, call Mr. Charles Strickland at 590-4925.

The United in the Community Day of Christian Fellowship in memory of Glen Hemmingway will be held Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Union Elementary School, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. All churches, civic groups, organizations, mime ministries, choirs and soloists are welcome. The Friendly Trio will have a musical Gospel Train Sunday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. I will tell you more next week.

Homecoming revival will be held at the Saint Jude Holiness Church, Clinton, Oct. 24-26 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The guest on Wednesday will be the Rev. James Jackson and choir. On Thursday, the Rev. Harold Boykin will be guest, and on Friday, guest will be elder Gary Jones and Cedar Point male chorus. On Sunday, Oct. 28, will be their annual Homecoming. The pastor, elder Willie Bryant, will bring forth the morning message and the choir will render the music.

Many thanks to pastor Thomas Farrow and the church family of First Baptist, Clinton, who rendered such a beautiful service at Brown’s Chapel last Sunday. May God richly bless each of you.
