CLINTON — Mrs. Margaret Marie McCullen, 88, of 3105 N. U.S. 421 Hwy., died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
The family received friends 2-3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Brown Baptist Church. The funeral was held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Brown Baptist Church in Clinton. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
Mrs. McCullen, born in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late James Ivey Beatty and Claire Wiley Beatty and was the widow of Manley McCullen. She formerly worked at Hamilton Beach and was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She was a member of Brown Baptist Church. Mrs. McCullen had a special hobby, her love for sewing. She made all of her clothes and the window treatments for her home.
Five brothers, Calvin Beatty, Eural Beatty, Marvin Beatty, Thomas Beatty, and Boyce; and two sisters, Lillian Beatty and Leonna Beatty, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Ronnie McCullen and wife Brenda, of Clinton and Gary Pronger and wife, Joyce of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Nicole and husband, Jamie Morris, Jonathan McCullen, Little Charlie T. McCullen III, Frank Pronger and wife, Shannon, and Marie Pronger; 10 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends 2-3 p.m.., the hour prior to the service, on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Brown Baptist Church, 2009 Browns Church Road, Clinton,and other times at the home of Ronnie and Brenda McCullen in Clinton.
