A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with Mr. G. W. West Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Friends will be received Saturday afternoon after the memorial service at the funeral home.
Mr. Gupton, born in Nash County, and was the son of the late Garland Owen Gupton and Nellie Catherine West Gupton. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the 1st Marine Division of the U.S. Marines and received a Purple Heart for his service. He was a published writer.
He is survived by four brothers, Jeff Gupton, Mike Gupton, Gary Gupton and Mark Gupton.
