AUTRYVILLE — Mrs. Kathleen Ezzell Holloway, 73, was welcomed home be her heavenly Father on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012.

She was born in Sampson County, a daughter of James K. and Ronia F. Ezzell. She resided in the Hayne community. Kathleen was a faithful member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. She retired from the food service industry with 40 years of service. Kathleen had been a dedicated and valued employee. Her work ethic was impeccable and her children grew-up knowing she gave her all to ensure their well-being. She was an excellent cook and shared many wonderful recipes with both family and friends. She loved planting a garden and took great pride in all of the wonderful fruits and vegetables she canned for all to enjoy in the months to follow.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eugene Holloway; her parents; six brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Bobby A. Smith of Autryville; two daughters, Phyllis Malone and husband, Robert Malone of Stedman and Sherry Corkery of Autryville; two sisters, Ethel Lockamy of Autryville and Rebecca Tyler of Valdosta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Molly Malone Jones, Chad Smith, Kara Cherry and Kyle Smith; and one great grandson, Corey Faircloth.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 2300 Pleasant Union Church Road, Roseboro, with the Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
