Sampson’s Dark Horses continuing their winning streak Wednesday with a 42-14 win over Midway.

Coach Tracey Thornton praised his players for their effort on the field and said he was especially pleased that he was able to give all his team an opportunity to play.

“It was a good win for us,” Thornton said. “It was great to be able to give the kids some playing time. Everybody had a chance to play. They deserve it; they come to practice and work hard, it’s nice to get them out there.”

Sampson kicked off scoring in the first quarter when Raheem Skinner ran it in from 40 yards out. He added a 2-point conversion to put the young Horses on the board 8-0.

Skinner made it to the end zone again, this time from 10 yards out, to up the score again.

Then Isaiah Cunningham blocked a punt and then ran it in for another touchdown.

Midway got on the board shortly after, and the score was 20-6.

Sampson’s Derrick Bryant got a TD from 10 yards out, then Johan Robinson returned a punt for another touchdown.

Tyion Wright got the final touchdown of the night on a 10-yard run.

No scores were called in for Midway.

The teams take a break next week, but return to the gridiron on Nov. 6.
