Mount Olive College fall symphonic and jazz Band concert Thursday

MOUNT OLIVE – Mount Olive College is hosting a symphonic band and jazz band concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mount Olive Assembly Hall. The event promises no ticks, put lots of treats with such songs as “Phantom of the Opera,” “The Headless Horseman,” “In Introduction to the Moon,” and “Night on Bald Mountain.” Dr. William Ford, associate professor of music, will direct the concert

“Contributing to North Carolina’s cultural life is only part of what the Mount Olive College Instrumental Music Department is all about,” said Ford. “Our primary effort is to educate the next generation of artists and teachers, as well as those who support the arts throughout their lives.”

Mount Olive College is a private institution rooted in the liberal arts tradition with defining Christian values. The college, sponsored by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists, has locations in Mount Olive, New Bern, Wilmington, Goldsboro, Research Triangle Park, Washington and Jacksonville.
