ELIZABETHTOWN — Mrs. Ophelia Davis Johnson, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Garland Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Tew, the Rev. Dewey Ball and the Rev. Ransom Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Briar Branch Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was a native of Bladen County and the daughter of the late Conley Parson and Josephine Davis. She was homemaker and retired sewing machine operator with Palmer Products of Clarkton.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jay Bee Johnson; brothers, Harvey Davis and Lonnie Davis; sisters, Omega Hales, Lila Bell Scott and Aileen Davis.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Bromley-Turner and husband, Jim of Rocky Point, and Katherine J. Brown and husband, Richard of Garland; three grandchildren, Joy Mintz and husband, Doug of Shallotte, Marshall Long and wife, Tonya of Leland, and Lee Brown and wife, Melissa of Garland; step grandchild, Jamie Bromley-Turner and wife, Christina of Hamlet; four great grandchildren, Christina Patelos and Ashlyn Mintz of Shallotte, Isabella and Dylan Brown of Garland; one step grandchild, Walker Gage Bromley-Turner; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at the home of Katherine and Richard Brown, 549 W. 2nd St., Garland, NC 28441.
