Rain cause for postponed games

Local teams are wishing for the warm spring-like weather of a week ago when baseball players like Brad Evans shown here, were playing in the warm sunshine and getting the out against their opponents.  Hopefully, the weather predictors will be right and the fields will dry enough for play to continue later this week.

As a result of the rainy weather experienced in Sampson County on Monday, local sporting events were postponed and some have been rescheduled. The following revised schedules have been provided to The Sampson Independent by press time today.

Middle School baseball and softball: Roseboro-Salemburg will play at Union Middle on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.

High School baseball and Softball: Midway at Rosewood will be played on Wednesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m. for softball and junior varsity baseball. Varsity baseball will play at 7 p.m.

Lakewood will play their make-up game with East Bladen Wednesday also. The baseball and softball games are scheduled to start at 5 p.m. at Lakewood.
