Thomas was employed and worked as a police officer for the Dunn Police Department from March 2011 until July 2012. Thomas was
voted Dunn Police Officer of the Year by his peers for the year of 2011. Thomas left the Dunn Police Department in July 2012 to attend the 129th Basic Highway Patrol School where
he and 27 other cadets received several weeks of extensive academic and physical training.
Thomas has been assigned to Troop B, District 8, Harnett County, and will begin his official duties as Trooper on November 28.
