WARSAW — Mrs. Shirley Cynthia Carter, 76, of 400 Grove Creek Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17 at New Bethel Baptist Church with pastor Terry Cummings and Dr. Mike Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Carter, born in Sampson, was the daughter of the late Ammie Jacobs and Themia Irene Simmons Jacobs and the wife of the late Richard Carter Jr. Mrs. Carter was a nurse with Sampson-Duplin Department of Mental Health and attended New Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Keith Carter of Washington, D.C.; brothers and sisters, Dorla Jacobs Ammons, Gordon “Gordie” Jacobs, Sonja Jacobs Tyler, Phylis Bryant, Gregory Jacobs, Kent Jacobs and Jimmy Faircloth; one, Godchild, Puja Mitchell and husband, Trenton of Wilmington; three God grandchildren, Taj, Prya and Divya.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her sister, 4795 U.S. Hwy. 421 N. Clinton.
