CLINTON — Mrs. Dixie C. Fann, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at her home.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Piney Green Baptist Church in Salemburg with the Rev. Donald Keith Carter and Dr. Earl Farthing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Fann was the daughter of the late Purdie Crumpler and Lila C. Butler. She was a life-long member of Piney Green Baptist Church. She loved her God, family and church. Her faith and devotion was demonstrated by 45 years of Sunday School perfect attendance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seavy Faison Fann, a son, R.H. Fann, a brother, Junior Crumpler and three sisters, Eloise Porter, Maydell Warren and Matel Pearson.
Surviving are her children, Helen Herring of Clinton, Mildred Quick and her husband Edwin of Garner, Vondia Farthing and husband Earl of Salemburg, and a daughter-in-law, Louise Fann; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Arease Jackson of Garner and Marilyn Naylor of Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St., Clinton.
The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to their mother’s caregivers, Brenda Silva and LeShonda Rodriguez for their loving care and loyalty for the past two and a half years and to the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice for their special care.
