Ann P. Avery, 95
SOUTHPORT — Mrs. Ann Phipps Avery, 95, of 924 Howe St., Dosher Nursing Center, formerly of Turkey, died Sunday Jan. 13, 2013.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Clinton, with Father Joe Running officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Born in 1917 in Sampson County, Mrs. Avery was the daughter of the late William H. and Ella Mae Carroll Phipps. She was a retired librarian with the J.C. Holiday Library.
She is survived by two sons, Ben Avery of Wilmington and William Michael Avery of Baraboo, Wis.; one daughter, Nancy Ann Avery of Kure Beach; one brother, Lacy Phipps of Bowden; and four grandchildren.
