The South River EMC Power Source Volunteers Committee is offering one $1,000 and four $500 college scholarships to high school seniors. To be considered, the student applying must live in a home, which receives electric service from South River EMC.
Factors considered in granting scholarships include: character, moral standards, citizenship, past and present academic performance, letters of recommendation, statements of career goals and qualifications and extra-curricular activities.
Candidates must also have a recommendation from either his or her high school principal, guidance counselor or teacher.
A complete transcript and SAT scores are required; please allow time for this to be processed at your school; ACT scores will accepted in lieu of SAT scores. Please read over your application carefully, ensure all paperwork asked for has been provided and all necessary signature lines have been signed. Applications are due to the Cooperative office by Friday, January 25. Students will be contacted for interviews at a later date.

Committee members are dedicated to serving the cooperative through community activities and goodwill. One such activity is the scholarship program offered to Cooperative members and their children.
