Three Autryville-area men are suspects in a recent northern Sampson County break-in that didn’t net the would-be thieves with anything but the possibility of a criminal record.
David R. Parker, 22, 891 Horseshoe Road, Autryville; Brett Allen Few, 19, of 891 Horseshoe Road, Autryville; and Challie Edwards, 19, of 921 Horseshoe Road, Autryville, have each been charged with one count of breaking and entering.
The three were arrested late last week and reports on the incident were filed with the Sheriff’s Department Tuesday morning.
According to those reports, Parker, Few and Edwards are charged in connection with a Jan. 10 break-in at Crossroads Grocery and Grill, 1780 Autry Mill Road, Godwin. In that incident, a sheriff’s deputy responded to a burglar alarm call to the grocery and grill and found that an exterior storage room door had been pried open. Suspects, reports further show, never actually made entry into the business and nothing was reported stolen.
Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Pope said that through investigation Parker, Few and Edwards were determined to be suspects in the case and were later arrested without incident.
The three were taken into custody and given separate $2,500 bonds. All are scheduled to make their first appearance in Sampson County District Court this Friday, Feb. 1.
