The Clinton varsity girls wrapped up another win against Croatan Tuesday night with a final score of 51 to 40.

Keeping a good 10 point lead throughout the whole game, the Lady Dark Horses used their special set of skills against the Cougars to manage a head start.

With the first quarter ending with a 19-10 score, Coach Chris Owens for the Horses placed his star players in positions where the ball will always meet their hands.

Gaining confidence, the Horses worked magic on the court. Meanwhile, the Cougars did not give up yet. Testing different plays and players, Croatan continued to play hard, even though the first half ended with a score of 23-12, Clinton in the lead.

After hydrating themselves and getting motivation form their coaches, the Horses were ready to take on the second half of the game. Jumping back on the court, the Horses and the Cougars battled it out again. Finishing the third quarter off with a leading score of 35-25, Clinton knew that they could not let Croatan get ahead.

With the fourth quarter here, Croatan took this as their last chance to get ahead, but the Lady Dark Horses would not allow this to happen. Ending the night, the Horses would go home with a 51-40 win against Croatan.

Lexus Simpson led the Horses in scoring with 15 points. She was followed close behind by Kristen Glasper with 13 points, Courtney Pearsall with 9 points, Tamara Murphy, Bianca Owens, and Tiandra Johnson with 4 points. The Lady Dark Horses are now 8-1.

The Lady Horses will take on the Swansboro Pirates Friday, Febuary 1 at 6 p.m.
