John Walter Burton

GARLAND — Retired Army SFC, John Walter Burton, 67, of 2854 NC Hwy 210 West, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville, NC.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17 at Cypress Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Burton is survived by his wife, Catherine Rich Burton; three sons, John Burton of St. Marys, GA, James Burton of Knightdale, Jeff Burton of Clinton; one step-son, Arthur Jason Rich and one step-daughter, Regina Smith, both of Garland; one brother, Carl Burton of Alaska; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
