Matthew 26:14-16 says “Then one of the twelve called, Judas Iscariot went unto the chief priests, and said unto them What will ye give me and I will deliver him unto you? And they Covenanted (counted out) with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
I would like to warn you this week, saints of God, about those people who are around you that carry these same traits that Judas carried. Yes there are some folks right now who would, if the right situation presented itself, sell you out. They would lie on you, trash your name, degrade you character, and all for thirty pieces of silver.
Judas who sat with Jesus, ate with Jesus, even saw the miracles that the Lord did, allowed Satan to enter into his mind which led his heart to betray the Lord.
Now if this happened to Jesus what makes you think it can’t happen to you and I.
Be careful of the people who you call your friend; be careful how close you allow people to get to you; and be careful about how much information you share with people. We are living in times where loyalty is no longer a standard among people. They will sell you out as fast as they can to move ahead or for just plain evil.
It’s hard to trust anyone these days, that’s why we need to ask the Lord to help us spiritually discern people and their motives. Everyone that says they are for you may not really be for you, if the truth were told.
There are some Judases hanging around in our lives, and if we ask God to expose them he will. Jesus says in Matthews 26:23 “He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.” If you are serious about finding out who the enemy is using to set you up, God can expose their plans before it comes to pass.
It’s major today for Christian folks to start watching the people that they hang around or call their friends. Saints of God be careful and be watchful daily, don’t let your spiritual guard down, that’s when Satan can throw a jab unexpectedly and catch you off guard.
