The Just-A-Mere Garden Club met on Tuesday, Feb. 5 for its Valentine dinner party. Mrs. Judy Honeycutt served as hostess for the event. Mrs. Honeycutt’s “party barn” was seasonally decorated with fresh, red Camilla centerpieces using black, red and white ribbons and various candelabra.
President Bonnie Jackson welcomed everyone. After devotion, a delicious steak dinner, catered by Connie Brock of Spivey’s Corner, was served and enjoyed by all. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Karry Godwin of Falcon, accompanied by his wife, Pam Godwin and Dennis Cash of Clement. All reports for treasury, new and old business were deferred until the March meeting.
Godwin was ordained in 1986 and has ministered both locally and internationally for over 20 years. He has served as minister of music, worship leader, youth pastor, teacher, administrator, associate pastor, worship ambassador and is currently president of Worship Discovery. Teaching the theology of worship, the theology of music and presenting worship concerts in the US and extensively outside the US in nations such as Argentina, Uruguay, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa and Israel. He sums up his occupation as a Bible teacher using music to demonstrate and facilitate the joy of discovering God’s presence in worship. He is the son of K. L. and Sibyl Godwin of Godwin.
