Amos E. Walton, 84

SALEMBURG — Mr. Amos Edward Walton, 84, of 310 Church St., died on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center in Clinton.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Brock Cemetery with the Rev. Glen Morgan officiating.

Mr. Walton was born on Feb. 5, 1929 in Duplin County to the late Seth and Lettie Melvin Walton. He was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Iola Tanner Walton of the home; one son, Jimmie Walton of Roseboro; two daughters, Nancy Kovach and Ileane Walton, both of Roseboro; two brothers, James Walton of Parkton and Leon Walton of Florida; two sisters, Agnes Baird and Millie Ann Norris, both of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at the home.
