In a hard fought game, the Hobbton Middle Wildcats got by Roseboro-Salemburg Middle 7-6 in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Hobbton Coach Pat Bowden was relieved to get the win. “We played better than we have been but we still have a ways to go. Roseboro played really hard to try to get the win. They have a good pitcher and she kept them in the game,” she said.
MacKenzie Williams went the distance for Hobbton and scored the winning run in the 7th. She was 1-2 in the game. Alona Rose was 1-2 with 2 runs scored. Camryn Carr was 1-4 with 1 run scored, Megan Parker was 3-4 with 1 run scored. Williams was 1-2 with 3 runs including the winning run. Meredith Norris was 2-2 and Mattie Roesch was 1-2.
For Roseboro, K. Brewer was 3-5 with 3 runs scored. S. Thigpen was 1-2 C. Ivey was 1-3 with 1 run scored. Madison Tart pitched a full game and also was 4-4 with 2 runs scored.
Hobbton will host Union on Thursday while Roseboro is open. Game time is 4 PM.
