A 21-year-old Roseboro man is facing multiple offenses after being jailed on assault charges, released and then charged again for violating a domestic violence protection order related to those first charges.

William Cory Chandler, 2241 Pleasant Union Road, was first arrested over a week ago and charged with two counts of assault on a female and one count of communicating threats. He was jailed without bond based on Domestic Violence laws that allow for suspects in those cases to be held for 48 hours. He was then placed under a $5,000 bond.

The initial charges, Sheriff’s Cpl. Marcus Smith said, were leveled after officers were called to a tire center in Roseboro in reference to a domestic situation.

When officers arrived, the female victim alleged that Chandler had assaulted both her and her mother. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate’s office where the victim pressed charges.

Chandler bonded out of jail after his 48 hours, but was back again Sunday night after he was charged with violating a domestic violence protection order.

No details were available on the violation.

Smith said an investigation into the matter is continuing.
