“This was a good win for us, taking us in to what will most likely prove to be a very tough Easter tournament in Winterville at the Sara Law Complex, where Midway will take on Havelock and North Pitt on Saturday at 12 and 4 p.m. and Williamston on Monday at 2 p.m.” expressed Lady Raider coach Leigh Smith.

The baseball game saw the Raiders move into a tie with the once previously beaten Bulldogs as they downed Wallace 7-1. Matthew Spell was the winning pitcher for the Raiders, going six innings, allowing three hits, 1 run and no earned runs with five strikeouts. Gibby Allen came in for one inning and faced three batters striking out two.
“It was a really good game for us,” stated Jason Fussell, Midway baseball coach. “The kids really played well and stepped it when they had to. It is a tall order for this young team to do such a good job.”

The Midway baseball team will be competing in the Jimmy Raynor Easter Tournament in Clinton Tuesday facing Harrells Christian Academy at 5 p.m.
Midway is now 6-6 overall and 4-1 in the Super Six.
