The man, Richard Chadwick Brown, 26, of 4808 Eagle Court, Fayetteville, garnered immediate attention from officers when they spotted him riding through traffic on his 1992 red Ducati motorcycle at speeds topping 100 mph. The incident occurred on U.S. 421 south.
Officials at the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office , reports show, had no explanation as to why Brown was trying to elude arrest in the first place.
The suspect’s motorcycle was impounded at the scene and he was arrested and charged with fleeing to elude arrest; speeding (100 mph in a 55 mph zone) and careless/reckless driving.
He was given a $2.500 bond and a trail date of May 2.
