I am writing in reference to the article in The Sampson Independent concerning hunting on Sunday. I am very disappointed at the idea of people being able to hunt on Sunday. This is a day of rest and families are in church.
I am a passionate still hunter and have been for years; I pattern bucks throughout the year. I gun hunt and bow hunt. If this is made legal, not only are we going to have to deal with dog hunters six days a week, but now seven.
Sports such as golfing or fishing are quite different than someone using a firearm on Sunday. The main reason Sunday hunting was proposed was to keep deer population in check but I don’t think an extra day out of the week is going to help any. The only way to manage the deer population is to harvest more does and let young bucks grow.

Clean up America
and recyle!
Editor:
I would like for us to dress up America.
(We should) develop renewable energy toward self-sufficiency; make nuclear floating stations around the country; increase solar wind and geothermal and ocean currents; and deliver reliable education in science studies.
We need architects, engineers, scientists and mathematicians to help solve our problems.
Developing recyclable energy-saving systems, make houses more energy-efficient, recycle bath water to use in toilets; solar panels to help with electricity; convert salt water to fresh using ocean currents as power, build more energy-efficient cars we can certainly make a different.
It’s important to recycle, recycle, recycle.
Why not even grow backyard gardens?
Sincerely,
Mary McLamb
