HARRELLS — Two Raleigh men and one Harrells man were each placed under $500,000 bonds after being arrested following an investigation that led to the seizure of a kilo (2.2 pounds) of cocaine near Harrells, Sampson County Sheriff’s officials announced Thursday afternoon.

Pope said the arrests were made thanks to investigators from the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, the State Bureau of Investigation, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Sampson County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Division.

When it was all said and done, three men were taken into custody and charged.

Adrian Cambero, 20, of 4716 Cardinal Grove Road, Raleigh, was charged with conspiracy to sell/deliver cocaine; trafficking in cocaine; and possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine. .

Giovanni Lopez, 21, of 316 Rush St., Raleigh, was charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession with Intent to sell/deliver cocaine.

Hector Manuel Penida, 26, of 9532 Hwy. 41, Harrells, was charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

No. Not all three of these individuals are illegal. I happen to know the parents of one of these three young men and he is a US Citizen, born and raised here in the Duplin/Sampson area. It is sad, though, that all these young people are turning to "easy money" when their parents have worked hard all their lives to provide a better life for them. I just hope, for our sake, that they are not able to get out of jail because they do, THEY WILL RUN and will never pay for THEIR crime.

I lay odds of 10-1 that none of these people are legal residents. Why do we continue to let the spanish prople bring drugs in by the truckloads> What should be done is return them to their country of origin as soon as they commit a crime. Don't give them a trial. SEND THEM BACK HOME along with their entire family. If one messes up, then the punishment of being sent back home extends to the whole family. That would be an incentive for the parents to keep their kids straight and out of trouble. Its time AMERICA takes the HARD LINE on crime!!
